The Count of Monte Who?

If you've read The Count of Monte Cristo (seeing the barely one-proof movie version does not count), you know almost every main character changes their name at least once. It's the 19th century version of all the mask pulling in Mission Impossible 2.

Yancy's coping mechanism:
Spoiler alert!

  1. Way to go Yancy for coming up with a way to keep tabs on everyone.... I tried reading CoMC back in high school and finally gave up because I couldn't keep straight who was what...

Finally told myself when the movie came out that it was good enough....

Maybe I should give it another shot.... think Yancy will lend me his cliff notes?

  2. Hey Shawna. I DEFINITELY recommend reading it. I've still got another couple of chapters to go before the end, but it is so good.

I'm tempted to turn my rough "cliff notes" into something a little more robust, but doubt I'll ever get to it. I wouldn't want to give you a more up-to-date version anyway as it would spoil too much of the story. :)

  3. I read that book (the unabridged version) back in high school... I actually used a quote from it as my senior yearbook quote. But I definitely became incredibly confused as to who was who.

  4. Ha! This is terrific. It's a shame to let character confusion ruin such a great book.
