I watched an episode of "MacGyver" for the first time this weekend, and all I can say is, "Seriously?"
It's like "Days of our Lives" meets "Man vs. Wild."
A pine cone land mine disabling a jeep? Maybe I've lived in NYC too long, but I don't think so.
I am sincerely asking, since I know so many people love this show, Why? What was so awesome? I just don't see it.

Because it has an awesome theme tune!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, it's a nostalgia thing.
Actually the Mythbusters did an awesome segment dedicated to MacGyver myths and most of them ended up busted.
I loved it in the 80s...now it seems cheesy, but I was little, so anything like that was like "OH COOL!!!" You never know what you can do with a rubberband, chewing gum, a turkey baster, a shoe horn, and fingernail clippers...its mind blowing.
ReplyDeleteI mostly watched because Richard Dean Anderson was incredibly HAWT. I tried watching them again a few years ago and was fairly embarassed to have been such a fan...but it taught a lot of us 80's kids how to think outside of the box!
ReplyDeleteHow can it NOT be awesome? A guy with a mullet who can fix anything and blow stuff up with common, household items?
ReplyDeleteRockage.
