Having several days off from our full-time jobs, we put full-time effort into a wedding prep marathon.
Highlights include mailing our wedding license
and buying a ring for Yancy.
It felt weird -- a good kind of weird -- to be shopping for him.

What do you think of the concept of having the guy wear a ring during the engagement as well? I like it (it implies that both halves should be behaving -- and be treated -- as if they're "spoken for"), but I'm not sure I'm enough of a trailblazer to go for it.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of your rings.
I'd never thought about it until I was watching him wear it at the store. My roommates chides me that it's bad luck to let him wear it, but I like it. It makes the engagement feel more mutual than it does now -- I feel less purchased* when he's sporting some bling too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll compromise and get him a RingPop to wear for the next couple months.
But, a pro for not letting him wear it, it's a little uncomfortable when we holds hands.
*Yancy never does anything to make me feel like I've been purchased.
Isn't it weird to be in that position- buying someone their wedding ring? You have cute pictures, I wish Scott and I had taken more. Good job!
