Wedding Photos: Round I

The reception in Seattle Thursday night taken by Lisette Wolter-McKinley, our photographer in Seattle and my old friend.

The
wedding in Spokane Saturday morning, taken by my aunt and uncle.

I'll have more soon.

  1. Oooooh! I'm all achy (because I wasn't there) and dazzled (because you, it) is beautiful. The gown and hair are gorgeous (who did your hair?), and I'm so glad you decided not to hide them under a veil. Yancy is quite dashing as well. A great couple!

So were the Sketchers your only wedding shoes? I don't see a pained expression on your face at any point in the day, so I'm guessing the answer is YES. That Leah -- she's the perfect marriage of lovliness and practicality.

As for those delicious-looking cheesecakes, if my memory doesn't flatter me, it was I who, as I walked with your Mom in Pike Place right before we called you and learned of your engagement, pointed at the Confectional cheesecake place and said "every time I pass this place, I think of Leah." She agreed, then took their business card. (Little did I know at that moment the Secret she was hiding from us.) So you see, a little part of me was there at the reception after all. I"m just glad someone else had to pay for it :)

  2. The Sketchers were my wedding shoes. I wanted something practical but didn't really want to go the sneakers/flip flop route. Sparkly sneakers were the compromise.

Marie, those cheesecakes were the best part of my reception! Thank you for inspiring my mom. We brought home a bunch because they were so good. Maybe, if you're lucky, I'll save one for you when you come to NYC.

  4. Wow! You could tell what we were doing?

She couldn't come for the Seattle reception, just the Idaho part, and we wanted to make sure she knew we missed her.

One of the best parts of the wedding was staying at the hotel with my family in Spokane. Seven hotel rooms in a row had cousins, grandparents and siblings -- not conducive to sleeping, but awfully fun.
